Wellbeing & Community Responder Service

Mole Valley Life and Surrey County Council are working in partnership to pilot a Wellbeing and Community Responder service for Mole Valley Life Lifeline Alarm and Epsom & Ewell Community Alarm clients across the Mole Valley, Reigate & Banstead, Epsom & Ewell and Tandridge areas.

Responding to alerts received by our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) in Dorking, our Community Responders will be on hand to support you or your loved one in non-emergency situations. Support provided by the service can include:

  • Assistance and lifting to a non-injured person who may have fallen
  • A wellbeing check where our ARC has been alerted but the client cannot be contacted
  • Support and comfort for an injured person who is awaiting an ambulance which has been delayed

The service is operational 7 days a week, 06:00 – 22:00 and will ensure that during these periods (if emergency contacts are not available to assist) our fully trained team aim to be with you within 45 minutes of dispatch to help support you.

The Wellbeing & Community Responder team

“Thank you to Steve for coming and checking on me when I was unresponsive on my alarm, he is the nicest man I have seen in while”

“Viv was very efficient and made me feel very comfortable and I wanted to say a massive thanks to her for all her support during my time of need.”

“Can I just say what an absolutely fantastic service you provide for helping patients when they fall and can’t get up, I was so impressed with the service received! The lady I was visiting fell when she got up from the chair to answer the door to me. After I gained accessed and pressed her call button, Phil was with us within about 15 minutes and the lady was safely raised up with the Raiser and back in her chair in a matter of minutes, uninjured and grateful to be off the floor. Your service is an absolute asset and I am spreading the word to the rest of our team within Surrey Downs Health and care.”

Roanna – Physiotherapist at Surrey Downs Health and Care

“Your Community Responder team are brilliant. I have an elderly neighbour and previously she’s been on the floor for hours when she’s fallen but this time, with your new service, she was back on her feet within the hour. The equipment you used to lift her was fantastic and the Community Responder who attended was so kind. Really well done and thank you, your service is invaluable!”
