“I am determined to keep my independence as long as possible and having my lifeline alarm allows me to do this.”
Mrs C
Mrs C pressed her pendant alarm after landing on the floor of her kitchen. The Mole Valley Life ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre) picked up the call within seconds and attempted to speak to Mrs C via the alarm box in her living room – the team couldn’t hear any response so they instantly called her directly on her land line – but Mrs C couldn’t pick up.
Worried about her wellbeing the team called Mrs C’s daughter but, living at the coast, Mrs C felt it would take her too long to travel to check on her mum so called her care company who usually visit her three times a day and her brother to arrange for them to go over to check Mrs C was OK.
Her carers were on their way and had arrived within ten minutes of the initial alarm. They checked on Mrs C and found she had wiggled her way to her conservatory – she wasn’t hurt and they asked for help to lift her off the floor.
Mole Valley Community Responders were dispatched and arrived within 35 minutes – 15 minutes later Mrs C was up and about and the team were leaving her with her ‘delayed’ cup of tea in the care of her son.
